While climbing the management ladder, there are two types of bosses to link with, good ones and bad ones.If you join with the bad ones and fail to connect with the good ones you will eventually be recognized as a not-very-good leader. If you join with the good ones and stay away from the bad ones you will be more likely to continue upward. You must have some talent and experience as well. A really good manages makes really good company. Consider Jack Welch and General Electric followed by Jeff Emelt and other who have almost bankrupted Jack's top-of-the-line company.
